Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thought I’d reflect and set a few creative goals for myself and 2026, where I want to take the site and my passion next year.

A lot of art was made this year, even if much of it never made it online. (Which has been one of my creative goals.)
From early first-issue comic concepts and rough prototypes to piles of sketches and half-formed ideas, the creative work never really stopped. As I’ve gotten older, the world has started to feel darker and more complex or maybe I’ve simply learned to see it more clearly, or grown closer to God. I find a lot of comfort in the truth found in the book of Romans: that evil is not overcome by more darkness, but by good. That idea is something I keep in mind always, and it’s something I want to share and encourage others with as well. Even when the days feel difficult, there is always hope. Thank you, Jesus.

Looking ahead, I want to be more intentional about sharing the work I’m already creating.
One of my main creative goals for 2026 is consistency that’s means to say posting more of my art, ideas, and experiments instead of letting them sit unseen. Yes I really do feel one reason is AI takes it! However that can’t be blocker for building my own personal brand. This year I launched a YouTube channel for Sketchnetics, and while it’s still small, the goal next year is to grow it from 5 subs to 100 by regularly sharing timelapses, sketch sessions, and tutorials.
More importantly, I want Sketchnetics to feel a bit more alive there are many pages in this website that needs finishing up!

The biggest creative goal for 2026 is to finally start publishing my comics!
I’m aiming to release four titles over the course of the year, which means pushing beyond ideas and prototypes into finished, shareable work. To do that, I’ll be developing my skills where needed and getting help where it makes sense, particularly with coloring, which I know is a weak point for me right now. It also means treating my creations seriously as intellectual property: organizing copyrights, trademarks, and contracts, and making sure everything is protected properly under Australian law and internationally. It’s a step toward turning Sketchnetics from a personal creative outlet into something more structured, intentional, and sustainable.
Let’s see how that goals!
My Creative Goals for 2026
- Create with intention and consistency sharing the work as it develops rather than waiting for it to feel “finished.”
- Publish four comic titles Move from concepts and prototypes to finished, released comics.
- Strengthen weak skill areas Improve colouring where needed, hiring a colourist
- Protect my creative work Properly organise copyrights, trademarks, and contracts to protect my IP
- Grow the Sketchnetics YouTube channel Increase the channel from 5 subscribers to 100
- Post the scribble bombs Turn the growing piles of loose sketches into finished scribble bombs
- Fill Sketchnetics Website Many pages are incomplete
As the year comes to a close, I’m grateful for how far this journey has already gone, even when progress felt slow or unseen.
These creative goals for 2026 aren’t about chasing numbers or perfection, but about faithfulness, showing up.
Thank you for reading, for supporting Sketchnetics, and for being part of the journey ahead.
